Porsche Opens New Museum in Stuttgart
David Beasley
Atlanta - 02.09.09

When employees of Atlanta-based Porsche Cars North America Inc. travel to the home office in Stuttgart, Germany, they will have a new tourist attraction to visit: a Porsche museum featuring 80 vintage cars and 200 exhibits.

Tony Fouladpour, spokesman for Porsche Cars North America, is one of about 10 Atlanta employees who have toured the new museum, which opened Jan. 31. The museum was designed by the Vienna, Austria, architectural firm, Delugan Meissl.

“Eighty cars does not sound like a lot of cars, but most of the guys I was with wanted to stay the whole day,” said Mr. Fouladpour. “With each car comes a story. The story is told with each exhibit.”

Porsche started making cars in 1948. It does not currently have any manufacturing plants in the U.S.

Porsche Cars North America, which employs 180 people, imports cars to the U.S. and provides parts, service, marketing and training for dealers.
