A Chinese urban planner will speak in Atlanta Feb. 12 on the Pearl River Delta’s ongoing transition from an agricultural region to a manufacturing center.
Xiangming Ma lives in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province and the central city in the Pearl River Delta region near Hong Kong.
Mr. Ma is the chief planner of the Guangdong Urban Planning and Design Institute.
The institute spent three years formulating a development plan that it’s now on the verge of implementing in the Delta region.
Mr. Ma will share these experiences and general observations about urban planning during a presentation called “China’s Pearl River Delta: A Mega-City Region in Transition.”
The event is presented by the Georgia China Alliance. It will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture. See the event listing here for more information.
