Commercial Service Holds Two Seminars on Africa Trade

The U.S. Commercial Service is holding two seminars in Atlanta this month on trade with Africa.
 
An event on Wednesday, June 24, focuses on North Africa, including Algeria, Egypt, Libya and Morocco. It covers cultural issues such as dining etiquette, appropriate gift giving and significant holidays in the region. Speakers will be Sam Cherribi, senior lecturer in sociology at Emory University, who was born in MoroccoSoumaya Khalifa, a native of Egypt who is president of Khalifa Consulting, a firm specializing in diversity and human resources and Hamid Barkah, a native of Libya who founded GBL Financial Services, a private commercial lender.

On June 29, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the commercial service will sponsor a forum on exporting to Africa. There will be discussion of the economies of countries such as SenegalGhanaNigeria and South Africa, as well as a roundtable discussion featuring local executives with experience in exporting to Africa.
