Georgia State University announced that its J. Mack Robinson College of Business is ranked by the Aspen Institute among the top 100 business schools worldwide for leadership integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its master’s of business administration programs.
Robinson ranked 85th in its inaugural appearance on the Aspen Institute’s 2009-2010 edition of “Beyond Grey Pinstripes,” a biennial survey of business schools globally. It is the only business school in Georgia to gain the distinction.
“For a business school to be truly effective in preparing future leaders, it must incorporate issues of ethics, sustainability and social responsibility into its curriculum,” Steve Olson, director of Robinson’s Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility, said in a press release. “We are honored that the Aspen Institute has recognized that Robinson College and its MBA programs for doing just that.”
Inclusion in “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” is based on measurements of how well schools are preparing their students for the environmental, social and technical complexities of modern-day business.
One hundred forty-nine business schools from 24 countries participated in an 18-month review of teaching and research issues pertaining to business and society.
The Aspen Institute Center for Business Education (CBE) is affiliated with the Aspen Institute, a think tank with offices in Washington and Aspen, Colo., and equips business leaders for the 21st century.
