Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., the largest bottler of Coca-Cola products, has named Edward Lopez as its chief diversity officer effective Nov. 1.
Mr. Lopez, former vice president of public affairs for the Atlanta-based company, will report to the vice president in charge of its human resources department. Mr. Lopez will ensure that the global bottling company's employee population is representative of the communities it serves throughout the world, CEO John Brock said in a statement.
Before joining Coca-Cola Enterprises in 2007, Mr. Lopez was head of licensing and regulation in New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson's cabinet. From 2000-04, Mr. Lopez was president of the board of trustees for the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Before that, he spent 15 years as an executive with Bell Telephone System in New Mexico.
Coca-Cola Enterprises sells about 80 percent of Coca-Cola Co.'s bottle and can volume in North America and has exclusive agreements with the beverage giant in certain European markets.
