Two University of Georgia academic centers will join with a Russian institute to hold a workshop on nuclear security in Vienna, Austria, Jan. 28-29.
More than 80 international experts in nuclear law, antiterrorism and nuclear security will participate in the workshop sponsored by UGA’s Center for International Trade and Security and Dean Rusk Center and the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Despite progress after the Sept. 11 attacks, gaps remain in nuclear security, said Igor Khripunov, interim director of the Center for International Trade and Security, in a UGA news release.
Participants in the workshop will produce a formal set of recommendations for the April Nuclear Security Summit in Washington. For more information click here.
