The Atlanta-based accounting firm HLB Gross Collins PC has established a joint venture with a Canadian counterpart to provide audit and assurance services to companies listed on public stock exchanges.

The joint venture with the Toronto arm of Schwartz Levitzky Feldman LLP forming HLB Gross Goldberg LLP was announced Jan. 27. The joint venture is a U.S. company also based in Atlanta and is independent of the two existing firms.

“HLB Gross Goldberg LLP will capitalize on the global opportunities of business today,” Richard Taylor, client services principal at HLB Gross Collins, told GlobalAtlanta, by combining the expertise of Schwartz Levitzky Feldman’s Asian practice with the European expertise of HLB Gross Collins.

He said that HLB Gross Goldberg is to focus on providing U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance services to publicly traded companies as well as entrepreneurial companies that may be considering an initial public offering.

He also said that the new firm is to actively participate in the global network of HLB International, the 10th largest international network of independent accounting and consulting firms.
