Business Leaders, Diplomats to Speak at Emory's India Summit

Emory University on March 26 will host an all-day conference bringing together diplomats, scholars and journalists to discuss India's growth as a global business center.

The student-initiated Emerging India Summit will feature former U.S. ambassadors and Indian diplomats including Arun Singh, deputy of chief of mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington.

Mr. Singh will participate in a panel discussion called "India Rising: The Destination Decade" with Jagdish Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt professor of marketing at Emory's Goizueta Business School. Marion Creekmore, a former U.S. ambassador to Sri Lanka and an Emory visiting professor, will moderate the discussion. Later in the day, Mr. Creekmore and Gordon Streeb, another visiting professor and a former U.S. ambassador to Zambia, will take part in a panel on bilateral relationships.

Other discussion topics include media, health care, education and doing business with India.

Speakers in the business segment include Rudy Karsan, CEO, Kenexa; George Post, director of supply chain solutions for United Parcel Service Inc.; Ravi Ramamurti, professor of international business, Northeastern University and C.N. Madhusudan, CEO of VectorSpan Inc. and president of TiE-Atlanta.

The summit will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry is free but registration for each session is required.
