Connie McDaniel, Robinson College of Business alumna who has joined the TSYS board of directors

Connie D. McDaniel, a former senior executive of the Coca-Cola Co. and Ernst & Young, and William M. Isaac, a former chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., have been elected to join the board of directors of payments company Total Systems Services Inc. (TSYS).

Columbus-based TSYS provides payment services to financial institutions, businesses and governments in more than 80 countries. It has offices throughout the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mrs. McDaniel retired in May 2013 as vice president and chief of internal audit at the Coca-Cola Co. in charge of overseeing the company’s auditing operations throughout the world. She worked at Coke for nearly a quarter-century including two-year stints in both Thailand and Germany. She joined Coca-Cola in 1989 after spending nine years with Ernst & Young.

She continues to serve as a director on the board of the Ridgeworth Funds in Atlanta and is a member of the Georgia State University Robinson College of Business Board of Advisors.

Mr. Isaac is the senior managing director and global head of Financial institutions for FTI Consulting Inc., which has offices around the world including Atlanta.  He is a former chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. having served under Presidents Carter and Reagan from 1978 through 1985 and led the FDIC during the banking crisis of the 1980s.

He currently serves as the chairman of the board of the Fifth Third Bancorp.

Mrs. McDaniel earned a bachelor’s degree at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. She and her husband, Ken McDaniel, who earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia State, recently endowed a scholarship at the business school intended for an accounting student with good grades and demonstrated financial need.

Mr. Isaac began his career as a corporate attorney at Foley & Lardner, and subsequently was a senior partner at the law firm of Arnold & Porter.
