Joseph R. Bankoff

President & CEO Woodruff Arts Center

Joe Bankoff joined Atlanta's Woodruff Arts Center in September 2006 as its President and CEO.   The Woodruff Center is one of the four largest performing arts centers in America with four outstanding artistic divisions: the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the High Museum of Art, the Alliance Theater and Young Audiences.  It provides arts experiences to Georgia's school children over 1 million times a year.

Before joining the Woodruff Arts Center, Joe was a senior partner at the Atlanta based law firm of King & Spalding (1972-2006).  Joe was a successful and highly regarded trial lawyer who specialized in a wide variety of media, technology and intellectual property matters. Joe chaired the Intellectual Property Law Practice Team at his firm.  He also served as Television Counsel to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) participating in the negotiation of television rights agreements for the 1996 Olympic Games.  Joe has been included repeatedly in the lists of The Best Lawyers in America, "Atlanta's Best Lawyers" and in Georgia Trend magazine's "Legal Elite".
