Atif Aslam was born on March 12, 1983 in Wazirabad, Pakistan. He attended high school at PAF College, Lahore, where he played Kabaddi and became interested in music.
During his college years, Atif met with him former band members, and they soon created the band known as Jal. Working together, the group performed at several local restaurants and recorded their first song Aadat It became popular on a host of promotional Pakistani music websites. The music video for Aadat was shot one day in a warehouse in Karachi. Unfortunatly, personal probems led to the split of the band and to the beginning of Atif's solo career. unannounced and indefinite hiatus, during which Atif launched his solo career.
Atif Aslam's soulful voice crossed the Pakistani border and reached India when Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt called Atif Aslam to seek his consent to put "Woh Lamhe" as a song in the soundrack of his new motion picture, Zeher. After that, Atif Aslam's music spread across to people and radio stations that play it all over the subcontinent now.
