The Friends School of Atlanta (FSA) will convene a panel of activists, academics and politicians to examine and raise consciousness about one of the most critical human rights issues of our time: the treatment of undocumented Latino individuals and families in the name of immigration reform. Building on FSA’s intergenerational dialogue on civil and human rights held last January, FSA’s 2012 Beloved Community Event, entitled, Immigration Today: A Hometown Human Rights Crisis, will serve to present the complex issues inherent in immigration reform, with a specific focus on families and education, as well as to discuss options for how audience members might get involved, should they feel called to do so.
