The deadline is fast approaching for Georgia companies to be recognized by the governor for their exports to new countries in 2016.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development is seeking exporters to receive the GLOBE Award (Georgians Leveraging Opportunities by Exporting) at its upcoming “Go Global” reception on March 14.
Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Feb. 15.
The main requirement of the award application is disclosing which countries the firm has entered within the past year through sales or operations and highlighting target countries and how the state’s services can help reach them.
Past winners have gone well beyond goods exporters to include companies that offer architectural services, food and mobile accessories franchises, travel agencies and much more.
Since the awards’ inception, Gov. Nathan Deal has generally been on hand to dole them out at the annual Go Global event, during which exporters will have a chance to meet with the state’s representatives promoting its trade and investment objectives in 11 countries.
