The Africa Travel Association held its 36th Annual Congress in Dakar, Senegal, May 25-29, under the theme: “Destination Senegal: A Tourism Gateway Inspired by Culture, Heritage and Arts.”
The congress overlapped with Senegal’s International Tourism, Cultural Industries and Artistic Crafts Fair, which Senegal’s president, Abdoulaye Wade, launched last year.
The Africa Travel Association introduced travel and tourism conferences to Africa in 1976 where professionals were able to meet and discuss tourism with government officials.
