Vanderlande Industries, the Dutch manufacturer of baggage handling equipment, has purchased a Spanish firm and its assets, including a Georgia factory that it will keep in operation.

Dinamic Industrial Business will be folded into a new Spanish subsidiary, Vanderlande Industries Santpedor S.L., which will continue developing the firm’s manufacturing facilities and selling its existing products: the Scannojet system for inspecting carry-on luggage, curved conveyors to accommodate directional changes and extendable conveyors. Adding to its product portfolio was the main driver for the purchase, Vanderlande said in a release.

The Georgia factory, located in Calhoun, will also continue to be developed into a “comprehensive local manufacturing site,” Vanderlande said in the release. The Dutch firm has its North American headquarters in Marietta. Its products move baggage at 600 airports around the world, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Dinamic is one of 18 Spanish firms listed by the Georgia Department of Economic Development as employing a combined 300 Georgians.

Calls to the Georgia offices of both companies weren’t immediately returned.
