Materials have had a profound impact on humanity. We have named historical periods the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age because the development of new materials has always led to technological progress and deep societal transformations.

Today’s materials are awakening a new age, transforming entire industries and the way we live our lives. Which material will define the next age? Join this virtual vernissage to experience the Material Shapes the Ages exhibit and learn about some of the new materials being developed at the Department of Materials at ETH Zurich.
