Meet the Speakers

Vo Van Minh, Governor of Binh Duong Province, Vietnam 

Mr. Vo Van Minh, 49 years old, holds a degree in electrical engineering, a bachelor’s degree in politics, and a master’s degree in economics. Mr. Minh has held many leadership and management positions in Binh Duong, such as: Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of Di An City, Head of the Internal Affairs Department of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Communist Party of Thu Dau Mot City.

Le Thi Hai Van, Economic Counselor, Vietnam Embassy in the USA — Helping American companies tap the Vietnamese market

For over 25 years at Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, Van has specialized and experienced many positions such as project appraisal, project monitoring, policy making and foreign investment analysis. She has been a dedicated member at the Foreign Investment Agency since its establishment.

Before becoming Economic Counselor at the Vietnam Embassy, she was the Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Foreign Investment Agency and lead several task forces and working groups promoting foreign investment and facilitating foreign investors doing business in Vietnam. She holds a PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Her other qualifications include Master and Bachelor degrees in Economic Development (National Economics University, Viet Nam), Applied Economics for Policy Analysis (Fulbright University Vietnam).

Scott Ellyson is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of East West Manufacturing. As CEO and Co-Founder, Scott has played a pivotal role in the Company’s growth. In addition to overseeing East West’s global operations, Scott is well recognized in the industry and very active in the Company’s acquisition efforts.

Before co-founding East West, Scott was VP of Offshore Manufacturing and Logistics for DiversiTech Corporation. Previously, He co-founded ITS Ltd., an EMS manufacturer in Asia that makes automobile components and electronic assemblies and began his career as a manufacturing and industrial engineer producing medical instruments for Boston Scientific. He also worked for several years as a management consultant for PWC, focusing on logistics, strategy and operations.

Scott grew up just outside of Milwaukee on Pewaukee Lake and attended Culver Military Academy in Indiana. He holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida and has been working in global manufacturing and distribution for over 20 years.

Bill Dao, North America Representative, Becamex Vietnam & Binh Duong Province

Bill, serving as North America Chief Representative for Becamex Vietnam & Binh Duong Province, has over 25 years of experience of providing business consultancy and promoting foreign investments into Vietnam, especially in manufacturing and supply chains industries. Bill has been managing more than 30 Vietnam events in US and Canada and bringing many US companies to Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

In Vietnam, Bill has worked for US Commercial Service as a Senior Gold Key Executive and Canada Trade Office as a Trade Commissioner to help many US and Canadian companies explore business opportunities in Vietnam. He has also worked directly with more than 500 companies in North America that are interested in Vietnam market. Bill has been bringing many Vietnam business delegations to US and Canada to explore business opportunities there and is an active speaker on Vietnam market.

Bill is also Vietnam & Southeast Asia Trade Ambassador and Director for World Trade Center Tacoma in Washington State. Bill holds a bachelor degree in business administration from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and another bachelor degree in international business from British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Canada. Bill has also got MBA degree from Brussels Liberty University (ULB) in Belgium and is living in Seattle, Washington State. Bill can speak Vietnamese, English, French and Chinese (Mandarin).
