How Current Global Issues are Shaped by International Media: Terrorism, Climate Change, Refugees

Join the Consulate General of France in Atlanta, the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Atlanta, the Alliance Française d’Atlanta and the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta for our annual celebration of the signing of the Elysée Treaty.
In 2015, international terrorism, the UN Climate Change Conference, and the European refugee crisis have become the most discussed political topics. Politicians, business leaders, and journalists share their perspectives on these issues on a daily basis and by doing so draw our attention to the topics, shape our perception, and even raise an entire nation’s consciousness.
This year’s annual Elysée Treaty Celebration will look at how international media shapes global issues and our own perception. We’ll be joined by German journalist, Christoph von Marschall, “Gar nicht so gute Europäer”, Die Zeit and French journalist Gallagher Fenwick, France 24, who will both share their perspectives in reference to current discussions.
