Georgia companies looking to expand their sourcing in the Western Hemisphere are being invited on a subsidized journey to meet with some 300 Colombian exporters in May.

Amcham Colombia is inviting companies to visit the capital, Bogota, May 13-14 for the Rueda de Negocios, a matchmaking event conducted in partnership with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce

The event is billed as connecting up to 100 American buyers with suppliers in Colombia across industries like textiles, agribusiness, software, construction and more.

The Amcham is offering qualified buyers complimentary lodging for two nights at the Marriott hotel next to the event venue.

ProColombia, the government’s trade and investment arm, is hosting a similar buyers’ forum April 14-15 and usually offers incentives including free flights, though the registration deadline has passed. More info here

The events come as Colombia continues to court investment from the United States, despite a rocky bilateral relationship that has been somewhat smoothed over by recent diplomatic overtures. Read more in Global Atlanta’s recent interview with Ambassador Daniel Garcia-Peña Jaramillo.
