The Atlanta office of the Lorraine Development Corp., an economic development agency of the Lorraine region in France, announced last week that Agco Corp. is building an 80,000-square-foot expansion to its facility in the region.

Agco is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment headquartered in Duluth.  It plans to stock and distribute parts for a new range of combine harvesters and other products from the site, according to Frederic Mot, director of the Lorraine office here.

Mr. Mot told GlobalFax last week that the Agco expansion will include installation of state-of-the art information technology systems. Agco opened its facility in Lorraine in 1995 and has some 100 employees there.

The company’s chairman and CEO, Robert Ratliff, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at a seminar to be held in Atlanta on Nov. 2 at the World Trade Center downtown.  The seminar sponsored by the Lorraine Development Corp. will focus on the region as a logistics center.
