Massey Ferguson 5700 SL Series honored

Duluth-based AGCO Corp. won three Tractor of the Year 2016 Awards at the Agritechnica Show held in Hanover, Germany, on Nov. 8.

Judged by a jury of journalists from 23 European countries, the organization’s design Golden Tractor Award went to the Valtra N 174 V for a “modern, dynamic, compact and cool look.”

The Tractor of the Year Award for 2016 went to the 517hp, Fendt 1050 Vario, which was credited as being the world’s most powerful standard tractor.

Massey Ferguson won the best utility category of the Tractor of the Year for its new 130 hp MF 5713 SL.

Martin Richenhagen, chairman, president and CEO of AGCO, said in a statement that the awards validated the company’s research and investment into the innovations and technology of each brand.

The Agritechnica Show is the largest agricultural machineries and equipment show and is held every two years at Messe Hanover. In 2013, it attracted 2,897 exhibitors and more than 100,000 international visitors. It continues in Hanover through Nov. 14.
