Air France-KLM Cargo is is to begin a new flight twice per week between Paris and Atlanta on March 27.

Air France Cargo will operate the flight, with Air France-KLM and Martinair Cargo providing sales and customer service, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials announced Feb. 23.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, who has made air cargo a plank in his economic development platform, was on hand for a ceremony at the airport announcing the new flight. It is expected to create six jobs and bring an annual economic impact of $8 million to $12 million on the regional economy.

The flight marks the return of Air France Cargo to Atlanta. The carrier suspended its routes here in 2009, after 12 consecutive years of service.

Atlanta is to host the The International Air Cargo Association‘s biennial forum and exposition in October.
