Argentina’s ambassador to the U.S., Diego Ramiro Guelar, will be in Atlanta Nov. 6-7 to attend a conference on infrastructure opportunities in South America sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (TDA) and to meet with representatives of local companies and business and state officials.
Dr. Guelar, who has served as Argentina’s ambassador to the European Union, 1985-87, and to Brazil, 1996-97, will speak at a luncheon to be held at the offices of the Atlanta law firm, King & Spalding, on Nov. 6 and later at 7 p.m. at the TDA conference to be held at the Westin Peachtree Hotel on Peachtree Street.
He also will visit with Jack Guynn, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and officials of CNN Espanol. Representatives of the state’s university system will meet with him at the Consulate General of Argentina downtown.
In addition, he is scheduled to meet with Robert Pastor, director of the Carter Center’s Latin American and Caribbean Program, and officials of Coca-Cola.
