Syntellect Inc., an Atlanta-based interactive communications company, has become the leader in the United Kingdom’s interactive voice response (IVR) market with a 16.7% share of a market valued at $27.5 million in 1995, according to Dataquest, an information technology research organization.
Syntellect specializes in software that tracks, routes and manages customer telephone calls and Web transactions through IVR and predictive dialing technology, and recently installed several call centers for U.K. clients.
In its report, Dataquest also said that the U.K. has the largest IVR market in Europe, and that U.K. market revenue grew by 60% in 1995. The organization cited new PC-based technology, which makes IVR products cheaper, as the reason for the growth in the market.
David Morales, Syntellect’s corporate vice president, international, said “Like Dataquest, we are seeing a tremendous demand for open, scaleable PC-based call centers solutions in the U.K. Additionally, we are seeing a strong trend toward large call centers with computer-telephony integration and agent “Screenpops” that offer their callers a variety of options.”
