Atlanta-based Intercontinental Business Services Corp. (IBS), which represents the Ile de France region in France in the Southeast U.S., has announced that Sykes Enterprises, an information technical support company, is in the process of developing a European call center near Paris.
According to John T. Lyons III, IBS’ president, Tampa-based Sykes Enterprises will hire 80 people at the new facility by this fall and expects the center’s growth to require more than three times as many employees in the near future.
He added that Sykes Enterprises, which already has offices in Holland, Sweden and Germany, has more than doubled its annual revenues in the past two years to $313 million.
Sykes Enterprises was attracted to the Ile de France region which includes Paris, he said, for the following reasons: the region’s reservoir of five million multi-lingual skilled and professional workers; its state-of-the art France Telecom telecommunications network and Numeris, the French ISDN network; the TGV, the world’s fastest train and La DŽfense, the office and business complex located near the Camps-ElysŽes.
