Atlanta-based GABRIEL, the world’s largest reservations system, signed a variety of passenger service agreements with Ecuador airline SAETA.
“This is a very important step in assuring that SAETA’s continued improvement in the field of passenger services, allowing us to remain competitive by using state-of-the-art applications provided by a neutral vendor,” said SAETA President Roberto Suarez during cutover ceremonies in Guayaquil, Ecuador. SAETA had used American Airlines’ SAAS system.
GABRIEL is operated by SITA Group, owner and operater of the largest international data network for hundreds of customers in more than 210 countries and territories.
SITA, headquartered in Paris, provides telecommunications and information processing to more than 550 airlines and travel-related organizations .
More than 25 Central and South American carriers now use SITA’s information processing services. SITA is the largest provider of services to Latin American airlines. It has more than 90 contracts for various applications including GABRIEL, fares services, departure control, baggage tracking, hotel reservations and an electronic travel information manual.
