The APEC Investment Mart to be held this June in Seoul, Korea will be featured at the 19th Atlanta Roundtable on Thursday, April 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Savannah-Augusta Room of the Georgia-Pacific Center downtown.
The Roundtable will be held in conjunction with a meeting of the Kotra Club and is to be followed by a reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. of the Korea Southeast U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the executive dining room at the center.
The Atlanta Roundtable is chaired by Atlanta attorney Ken Cutshaw and sponsored by Agio Press, publisher of GlobalFax. Local businessmen and women interested in or already doing business in Korea formed the Kotra Club in Atlanta in 1997. The organization now has some 100 members.
Kotra, the Korea Trade Center, is a Korean government agency created in 1962 to encourage trade and economic development. It has 107 offices around the world, including one in Atlanta headed by Soon-Hyung Kwon, its director general here since April of last year.
Leaders of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation’s 21-member countries agreed last year to host an APEC Investment Mart to be held this year in Seoul.
According to Mr. Kwon, the mart will be an enormous networking event drawing businesspeople to discuss opportunities around the world. He will provide an overview of the program and its purpose at the Roundtable.
The Roundtable is free and open to the public, but a reservation is required. To reserve a place, call the Kotra office at (404) 524-2424; fax, (404) 524-2234.
