GlobalFax has learned that the Australian company, Canatic Seating Pty., which designed and manufactured the seats for the 1996 Olympic Games at Turner Field, has incorporated a U.S. subsidiary to be based in Atlanta.

Stemming from the success of its Turner Field project, Canatic Seating has won a contract to replace and refit seats in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., and is one of two finalists to provide seating in Memphis’ new AAA baseball stadium.

David Fisher, president and CEO, and his father, Brian Fisher, the company’s founder and chairman, were in Atlanta earlier this month to meet with Turner Sports and Entertainment Development Co. officials for the final approval of the seating at Turner Field.

They met with Janet Marie Smith and Coart Johnson, president and vice president, respectively, at Turner Sports and Entertainment.
