The Austrian firm's new warehouse in Conyers.
A family-owned Austrian company highlighted the opening of a metro Atlanta warehouse as a key 2021 development when reporting strong growth on global revenues of 2.54 billion euros.
Based in Lauterach, Austria, Gebrüder Weiss saw its sales jump 41 percent during the year compared to 2020, when the logistics industry faced a pandemic-induced sales slump. Some 70 percent of the increase was attributable to rising prices for air and sea freight amid supply-chain bottlenecks.
The building boasts 22 gates.

The firm, which claims 500 years of history, continued its steady expansion into North America in an otherwise volatile year, preparing to meet the demands of companies “near-shoring” their production. Gebrüder Weiss opened a nearly 66,000-square-foot warehouse in Conyers in October, projecting the hiring of 20 people in a facility where it planned to offer “storage, pick and pack, major retailer compliance capabilities, e-commerce solutions, and value-added services such as kitting.”

The warehouse offers 22 dock doors and various sections where customers can access racking, bulk and small part distribution areas. The goal of the expansion was to more space and another location option to customers continuing to use the

The new warehouse is located at the Rockdale Technology Centre, Building 100, 2430 Dogwood Drive SE in Conyers. The company has another location in Hapeville near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
