NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 13, 2013. More here.
Women could find it comfortable, but men might be intimidated to attend the Belgian-American Chamber of the South’s next event, where a bra fitting is to follow a CEO talk.
“It’s not a boardroom event, not at all,” said Jan-Paul Kalmeijer, executive director of consulting firm Cognegy LLC and an executive committee member at the chamber, which was formed in September.
But Mr. Kalmeijer insisted that the business types of both sexes would enjoy hearing the story of how a Belgian firm entered the U.S. by acquiring Atlanta-based Intimacy Bra Fit Stylists.
Lode Van Laere, the Belgian CEO of Intimacy, will talk about how Belgian lingerie producer Van de Velde plans to win more U.S. customers using the personalized service developed by Intimacy, which helps women find the right fit out of 90 different bra sizes. Mr. Van Laere will also talk about the challenges of a Belgian company faces when taking over a family-owned U.S. firm.
The event will be held Feb. 13 from 7-9 p.m. at the Intimacy store at Phipps Plaza.
Fitting rooms will be open to chamber members throughout the evening.
