Five information technology companies from Canada's Atlantic region will be visiting Atlanta on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 8 and 9, seeking Georgia companies that are interested in outsourcing their business processes. Michael Flaherty, Canadian consul and trade commissioner here, identified advantages of nearshoring to companies in the region's provinces of Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. He cited a familiar business culture, language familiarity, proximity, favorable cost structure, skilled labor force and a comprehensive legal structure among the region's advantages. Representatives of Georgia companies who would like to meet with the Canadian representatives and have them visit their offices should call Mr. Flaherty at (404) 532-2013 or send an e-mail to global@bellsouth.net
