Garrett Wasny, a Canadian certified management consultant, has made certain that any small- to medium-sized business can now obtain information on the Internet to assist it conduct business globally — information, he claims, that until recently could only be obtained by large companies.

Mr. Wasny’s “Action Plan for Developing the World” is to GlobalFax’s knowledge the most comprehensive Web site currently devoted to international trade.

Mr. Wasny, who has been touring the U.S. as a featured speaker on the Export America ‘97 seminar tour and makes his living as a consultant and researcher, has linked what he considers the most useful Web sites for trade onto his site which is located at http://mypage.direct.ca/g/gwasny/global.html

“These are extraordinary tools that are an incredible empowerment to small business firms that before the Internet were at an incredible disadvantage,” he said during an interview.

“The virtual trade team” category on his site is “almost like having your own virtual shipper or lawyer that you can call on 24 hours a day, seven days a week often at no charge,” he said.

There also is a section entitled “Global Trade Resources,” which is linked to sites in English for information about all areas of the world.

And what he has collected on his site, he said, is only the beginning.  Before long, he said he will be providing on the site access to simultaneous translation systems, web phones for free international calling and secure electronic transactions capabilities.
