Atlanta-based Manhattan Associates Inc., a supply chain solutions provider, recently announced that Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Group Ltd. has implemented its warehouse management software program.
As one of the first pharmaceutical companies and laboratories founded some 100 years ago in China, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals is now the leading pharmaceutical distributor in the country.
The company distributes medicines, medical equipment and health products from its hub in Shanghai to hospitals in the rest of the country as well as 30 countries abroad.
Manhattan Associates’ warehouse management system will monitor Shanghai Pharmaceuticals’ logistics requirements, such as storage temperature and humidity, by linking suppliers, distributors and customers through an integrated virtual platform.
According to Dennis Deng, project director of the logistics project at Shanghai Pharmaceuticals, the completed system will connect and consolidate Shanghai Pharmaceuticals’ logistics facilities, thus lowering operating costs and accelerating inventory turnover.
