Coca-Cola Co. Chairman Neville Isdell will not stand for re-election to the company’s board at its annual shareowners meeting in April 2009.
The board intends to hand chairman’s position to CEO and President Muhtar Kent.
Mr. Isdell said in a news release that the appointment is part of the company’s “well-conceived” succession plan unveiled last year. Mr. Kent succeeded Mr. Isdell as CEO in July.
