Travelex Acquires Ruesch International
Travelex Currency Services Inc., a privately owned worldwide currency exchange business, completed its acquisition of Ruesch International Ltd. Sept. 6 for $440 million.
Ruesch International is a consulting firm specializing in business-to-business payment solutions. The company has a marketing presence in Atlanta and is a sponsor of GlobalAtlanta.
According to a Ruesch International press release, the acquisition will help Travelex expand in the global business-to-business payment market. Combined, the companies will process $37 billion in payments to more than one million clients annually.
Both companies are involved in international markets and have branches all over the world. Company executives said that the merger will enable them to provide services to a wider range of businesses.
“The growing international exchange market in North America will enable our combined companies to provide the security, savings and customized benefits normally reserved for F500 corporations to emerging companies in the high growth sector of small- and medium-sized businesses,” said Robyn West, regional director for the Americas.
The Travelex group is headquartered in London and has four branches in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and another in Lenox Square Mall, according to the company’s Web site.
