The Netherlands consulate general in Miami has notified Global Atlanta that condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the crash of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 may be registered at www.condolences.eu
The Dutch government declared Wednesday, July 23, a national day of mourning for the victims of the crash on July 17 in the separatist-controlled area of eastern Ukraine.
According to press reports, 193 of the 298 people who died in the crash were Dutch nationals.
Two military planes carrying the remains of some of the victims landed today at the Eindhoven airbase where they were met by King William Alexander, Queen Maxima and Prime Minister Mark Rutte along with members of the families of the deceased.
President Obama expressed condolences July 22 during a visit to the Netherlands Embassy in Washington.
As of 1 p.m. in Atlanta, more than 2,200 respondents had entered condolences at the designated website.
