Perhaps because it includes planned visits to the Negev Desert, a winery and an old munitions factory, the American Israel Business Connector, or Conexx, is calling its upcoming mission to Israel in November a “business expedition.”

The organization says it will use its strong connections in the country to help participants explore aspects of the “Start-Up Nation’s” economy that they wouldn’t be able to see on their own.

The six-day trip from Nov. 5-10, with its “home base” in Tel Aviv, includes visits to incubators, science and research facilities, Ben Gurion University, meetings with entrepreneurs and more. Conexx’s women’s program is also setting up special trips to female-owned companies. The trip includes cultural experiences like visits to the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, a vineyard in the Negev, old sites in Jaffa, a town of the Druze minority and other locations.
