ChinaLandmark.com, an Internet company based in Shanghai and Hong Kong, is the platinum sponsor of this year’s International Consular Ball to be held on Saturday, April 17, at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Buckhead.
The company is owned and operated by the family of Francois Shih, who serves as president. Mr. Shih is formerly from Macon and has been operating various business enterprises in China for more than 20 years.
ChinaLandmark.com is designed to provide information on how to make business, educational or cultural connections with China. It also provides links to sites with information about tourism in China, Chinese medicine and Chinese culinary traditions.
Mr. Shih will attend the ball as part of a new business exchange partnership between ChinaLandmark.com and the Georgia Council for International Visitors (GCIV), which will host the ball.
Besides Mr. Shih, other guests of honor include Gov. Sonny Perdue, Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and members of Atlanta’s Consular Corps.
Corporate sponsorships are available from $2,500-$10,000 with members of the Consular Corps seated at corporate tables. Individual tickets are priced at $175 per person.
Proceeds from the ball are to benefit GCIV, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making connections between Georgians and citizens of other nations.
The black tie or national dress affair is to begin at 6:30 p.m. with a reception and silent auction. Dinner and dancing are to begin at 8 p.m.
