Edelman Public Relations Worldwide has appointed Robert A. Kornecki general manager of its Atlanta office and president for its offices in the South. Mr. Kornecki, who has moved to Atlanta from Chicago, also oversees Edelman’s offices in Miami and Melbourne, Fla., and in Austin, Dallas and Houston.

          An independently owned firm with 2,000 public relations professionals, Edelman operates out of 42 offices incuding two in Canada, three in Latin America, 11 in Europe, nine in the Asia-Pacific region and the remainder in the United States.

          “As a result of our global presence, we can deliver timely, single-source service to local clients wherever and whenever global communications needs arise,” Mr. Kornecki told GlobalFax in an interview.

          To accommodate the growing needs of its clients doing business with China, the company has opened offices in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, and recently launched www.chinaprnews.com, its China public relations Web site based in Beijing.
