An Egyptian business delegation seeking contacts with representatives of Georgia companies will visit Atlanta Feb. 24-27. 

Some of Egypt’s largest companies involved in industries ranging from building and construction to medical will be participating in the visit, which has been organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.

Ahmed Shawki, president of the American Chamber and managing partner of Mostafa Shawki & Co./Deloitte & Touche, is the head of the delegation.

The event is sponsored locally by the Georgia Department of Industry Trade and Tourism and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. The delegates will be engaged in one-on-one meetings with representatives of Georgia companies Thursday and Friday, Feb. 25 and 26.

They also are to attend a luncheon and briefing with H.E. Ahmed Maher El Sayed, Egyptian ambassador to the U.S., and are to meet with Mayor Bill Campbell.

The World Trade Center Atlanta will hold a luncheon for the delegation on Friday, Feb. 26, from noon to 1:30 p.m., which may be attended at a cost of $35.  To attend, please notify Joanne Martin at (404) 880-1556.
