Fiesta of Mexican Culture
Join the Fiesta of Mexican Culture with a showing of the movie “Coco” at the Roswell Riverside Park . Movie begins at sunset. Bring chairs, food, beverages to enjoy the movie!
Mexican Cultural Festival will begin at 5:30pm until 7:30pm in the same green area.
Since the movie “Coco” is about remembrance and is based on the Day of the Dead, the following cultural experiences will be shared with everyone in attendance:
-Atlanta community Symphony Orchestra Ensemble with Juan Ramirez conducting an all Mexican composers concert.
-Authentic Prehispanic Dances (Aztecan) by Mitotliiliztli Tonatzin
-A Day of the Dead Altar constructed at the park – bring a copy of a photo if you want to make it part of the altar.
-Activities for children include coloring pictures of Mexican foods, making of Papel Picado and a story telling time in Spanish and English.
-Tortilla making .
-Guanjuato tourism (whose architecture is in the film) will present a short film about Guanajuato today and share tourism information.
-Mexican painter and Roswell resident, Ilka Moreno, will show some of her original artwork.
-Mexican Trivial Pursuit
