AFA Finale Orchestral Concert Featuring Young International Musicians
Come join for the Atlanta Festival Academy Finale concert featuring 12 year old violin sensation, Chloe Chua as soloist, and showcasing two orchestras of AFA. Esteemed young maestro Mr. Henry Cheng, and seasoned conductor Mrs. Georgia Ekonomou will lead the Festival Orchestra and Academy String Ensemble to delight the audience with music by Mendelssohn, Dvorak and others.
The 2019 Atlanta Festival Academy is the Southeast’s first international, 9-day, classical music festival and camp in partnership with Menuhin Competition and the Lin Yao Ji Music Foundation. The Atlanta Festival Academy brings together world-class classical musicians from around the globe to help develop the next generation of artists as well as delight today’s audiences. The festival will attract young musicians, instructors and performers from around the world to participate in master classes, lectures and workshops, as well as private lessons, chamber music and orchestra coaching by world renowned teachers from Asia, America and Europe. The founding organizations of this new endeavor come from three continents and five different countries.
The Atlanta Festival Academy’s faculty has an equally international reach, with teachers from China, Uruguay, Iceland, Japan, United Kingdom, and the United States all coming together to lead and train tomorrow’s musicians. The Atlanta Festival Academy invites intermediate- and advanced-student violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists from around the world to gather together this summer to learn from the best and, by doing so, become the best they can be.
