Brazil’s Wind Power Sector – Opportunities for U.S. Companies

Wind power is the second-largest source of energy in Brazil with 15 GW of installed capacity, besides an additional 4.6 GW, already contracted or under construction, to come online by 2023. According to the Global Wind Power Council (GWEC), Brazil places fifth in the number of new wind power installations per year, only behind China, the United States. Germany and India.

Brazil has an efficient manufacturing supply chain that produces most of the equipment and machinery used by wind farms in Brazil. However, as the Brazilian wind power sector matures and develops, local companies seek to improve performance and efficiency through cutting edge technologies and services creating opportunities for U.S. firms.
