Consular Conversations: Ireland

In an effort to better engage the Atlanta Consular Corps, Global Atlanta is asking locally based diplomats to participate in a series of frank discussions on the state of their countries and their objectives in Atlanta.
On Aug. 17, the series continues with Shane Stephens, consul general of Ireland to the Southeastern United States, who will discuss the impact of Brexit on Ireland, how his country has sustained growth in a sluggish region and plans to capitalize on a Georgia Tech college football game played in Dublin this September to build trade and investment ties with Georgia.
The format:
- Light lunch with beverages
- One-on-one conversation with Global Atlanta editorial team, followed by moderated audience Q&A
- Limited to attendees with demonstrated interest in the country under discussion
- Discussion covered by Global Atlanta and published in a later article
