Rafael Laveaga,
Consul General of Mexico in Atlanta

Rafael Laveaga Rendón is the Consul General of Mexico in Atlanta, a position he has held since 2025, overseeing Georgia, Alabama, and eastern Tennessee. A career diplomat with more than 30 years of service and a member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 2001, he holds the rank of Minister and has extensive experience in foreign policy, consular protection, national security, and strategic communication.

Prior to his current role, he served as Head of the Consular Section at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States, where he led efforts to provide documentation and assistance to hundreds of thousands of Mexican nationals. His work in Atlanta focuses on expanding consular services, strengthening community engagement, and protecting vulnerable populations.
