Vaccinations are getting into more and more peoples’ arms. The latest round of relief funds is hitting into the bank accounts. The end of the pandemic is in sight. How does the global economy look? Will China’s economy keep its growing pace? What are the prospects of the US economy’s full recovery? How is the local economy and real estate market, in particular, faring relative to its past and to the rest of the country?
CBAA has invited experts in these areas to answer these questions.
Speakers
Li Qi is Professor of Economics at Agnes Scott College. She joined the faculty after completing a postdoctoral research fellowship at Columbia University. Her research focuses on Chinaโs economy, and behavioral economics and finance. Her recent publications are featured in prestigious journals such as Review of Finance, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Financial Markets, Business Ethics Quarterly, and China Economic Review, among others. In addition to teaching and research, Li Qi has also been an active member of several professional organizations. Recently she began to serve as the President of the Chinese Economist Society.
Dr. Xuepeng Liu is a Professor of Economics at Kennesaw State University, a research associate at the China Research Center, and a consultant at the World Bank. His research interests include international trade and economic development. He has published in prestigious academic journals such as the American Economic Journal, the Review of Economics & Statistics, Journal of International Economics, and Journal of Development Economics.
Mike is the Director of the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Center for Livable Communities which includes the Community Development, Community Partnerships, Natural Resources, Research & Analytics, Transportation Accessibility & Mobility, and Mobility Services Groups of the ARC. Mike has over 20 years of Public policy experience focused on regional and local community planning.โฏ As the Director, he leads this multidisciplinary, professional staff in the fields of transportation planning, environmental planning, community development, economics, and demographic forecasting.
