German Heritage Tour at Oakland Cemetery
September 23, 2021 at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Oakland Cemetery is one of the largest cemetery green spaces in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded as Atlanta Cemetery in 1850 on six acres of land southeast of the city, it was renamed in 1872 to reflect the large number of oak and magnolia trees growing in the area.
Join Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta on September 23rd at 6 pm for a private special topics tour at Oakland Cemetery focusing on the German-speaking residents of the grounds. Just in time for the start of the spooky season, you won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to learn about the cultural connection and heritage between Atlanta and German-speaking citizens!
Tickets are limited and required to attend the event.
