IEW at the Kopleff Celebrating China Featuring – Meiling Jin, Soprano

In celebration of China, award-winning Chinese vocalist Meiling Jin, a professor at Hangzhou Normal University in Zhejiang Province, China, will perform a selection of two arias and a set of traditional Chinese songs at the kick-off event for International Education Week. In 2014, Ms. Jin visited Georgia State University’s School of Music as a scholar and studied with W. Dwight Coleman. Under his mentorship, she received First Place in the Young Artists’ category at a National Association of Teachers of Singing competition.

Georgia State University will celebrate International Education Week (IEW) on November 1 – 6, 2015. As a U.S. Department of State’s initiative to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange, colleges, universities, high schools, and organizations are encouraged to host events that celebrate global education and foster cross-cultural understanding. International Education Week is now celebrated in more than 100 countries (and counting!).
