The Consulate General of Switzerland in Atlanta has the pleasure to announce its participation in the Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo 2018. In cooperation with the French and Italian Department at Emory University, the Consulate invites you to the screening of the movie “Il Nido” by Swiss-Peruvian director Klaudia Reynicke. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30PM and seating will be on first-come-first-serve basis.
About the film:
Cora, a 19-year-old woman, works for her family in Bucco, a village whose livelihood depends on the tourism of Christians who believe in the apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Michele, Cora’s father, organises the important celebration of the Virgin of Bucco, an annual event that attracts numerous pilgrims. But the arrival of a mysterious man, Saverio, will gradually undermine the harmony in the “holy” village, with the revelation of a crime committed by the villagers 40 years earlier, whose principal instigator was Cora’s father.
