Light-Art Meets German Architecture: “Spotlight Bauhaus”

October 5, 2018 at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Light-Art Meets German Architecture: The minimalist building of Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System—designed by Bauhaus architect Marcel Breuer—will interact with the dynamic motion of “Superposition,” a light show created by German artist collective URBANSCREEN, accompanied by the motion of young local dancers from Dance 411. The pre-show will be Berlin-based urban dance crew “Flying Steps” at 6 pm. They have been thrilling audiences all around the world since the 90s. The Light-Art show will start at 8:15 pm.

As a special part of the street festival, Wiesn in a Box – a mobile mini Oktoberfest – will be offering Hofbräu beer and pretzels in its first of many stops along a nationwide tour. The event is part of Wunderbar Together: The Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 – an initiative funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, implemented by the Goethe-Institut, and supported by the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
